City of Parramatta appoints new interim CEO

City of Parramatta Council has announced the appointment of Steven Head as its new interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Mr Head (pictured) brings extensive leadership experience across several NSW councils, including Hornsby Shire Council, Uralla Shire Council, Willoughby City Council and Ku-ring-gai Council, as well as at Transport for NSW.

Lord Mayor, Cameron MacLean said Mr Head’s appointment positions the organisation to continue delivering on its vision for Parramatta’s future.

“I am delighted to welcome Mr Head to the City of Parramatta. He is a highly respected leader with the expertise, vision and commitment needed to guide our organisation through the next chapter of Parramatta’s growth and transformation,” Lord Mayor MacLean said.

“Parramatta is at the heart of Sydney’s future, with significant investment in infrastructure, housing, jobs and public spaces, helping to shape Australia’s next global city. Strong leadership is critical to ensuring we continue to create the best neighbourhoods for locals so that they are proud to live here.

“His leadership will help ensure Council remains focused on creating opportunities for residents, supporting local businesses and communities to thrive.”

Mr Head said he was excited to join the City of Parramatta at a time of growth for the Council.

“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work closely with the Lord Mayor, Councillors, the community and staff in helping to shape and deliver on the City of Parramatta’s vision as Australia’s next great city,” Mr Head said.

Mr Head will hold the position for 12 months, starting on Monday 26 October.
