City of Monash serves up new tennis hub

City of Monash Council has served up a new tennis centre and multisport pavilion as part of the Glen Waverley Sports Hub, which was officially opened at the weekend.

The new facility in Jells Park contains 18 tennis courts – including two show courts, a pavilion, a golf driving range and a café.

Glenvale Tennis Club will be based at the new centre, which will also be available for casual community use and to accommodate local and regional tournaments.

“The $26.7 million tennis and multisport facility has been a significant project for Council and I’m delighted that it is now open,” said Mayor, Nicky Luo.

“I want to thank the Victorian Government for their support, as well as everyone who has worked on this project – which will be a game-changer for tennis in Monash.”

She said the tennis centre will be the new home for major tournaments replacing the former tennis centre in Bulleen.
