Camden to improve access to landscape views

Planned improvements to walking trails in John Oxley Reserve at Kirkham in the Camden Local Government Area will provide greater access to the picturesque views of the Camden valley and the Great Dividing Range, Camden Council has announced.

Council has developed a draft concept plan for the future of the site, which is now publicly available for comment.

The $360,000 project was identified in the Camden Green and Blue Grid Vision and is funded through the NSW Government’s Places to Roam program.

The proposed trail leads to a number of vantage points with a view of the Camden area and beyond.

Mayor, Ashleigh Cagney said the proposal aims to improve community wellbeing and connect people to the landscape.

“This is a very exciting draft concept plan and I encourage everyone to check it out and share their thoughts,” she said.

“It will provide a great opportunity for people to enjoy some fresh air while getting some great views of the beautiful landscape around us.”

Construction on the project is expected to start in January 2024.
