Burwood Council’s Citizen of the Year is Bob Dong.
“Mr Dong is the long-standing president of the Burwood Asian Business Partnership (BABP) and dedicates his time and energy championing local businesses,” Mayor John Faker said.
“He is a strong advocate for the needs of our culturally and linguistically diverse multicultural community. “
The Young Citizen of the Year was named as Claire Huddy.
“Claire is a volunteer member of Council’s Youth Advisory Committee, the Burwood Youth Advisory Group and strives to ensure the voice and views of young people in the area are heard,” he said.
“Congratulations and thanks to both our award winners for working so hard to support out local community.
“This past year more than ever has shown us the value of having active local community advocates who generously dedicate their time to help and support others in our local area.”
