Community problem-solving app, Snap Send Solve, has named Baw Baw Shire Council as the winner of its 2023 Solver of the Year Awards’ Inclusive Excellence Award for Victoria.
The Awards celebrate the outstanding efforts of Councils across Australia and New Zealand to drive positive change in their communities in 2023.
This Inclusive Excellence Award is presented to the Council that has the highest overall solve rate across the categories of Pavement and Footpath (damaged / general / overgrown vegetation), and Accessibility.
Baw Baw Shire Council achieved a 94.2% overall solve rate. More than 500 councils across Australia were considered for the award.
In Baw Baw, 1,666 local Snappers sent a total of 5,256 Snaps in 2023.
Mayor, Annemarie McCabe said the win demonstrated Council’s commitment to fixing and listening to issues that pop up across the Shire.
“We take our commitment to community very seriously and our residents can rest assured that if they lodge a problem with Council, we’ll do our best to follow up and look into it,” the Mayor said.
“I encourage our community to keep making the most of this app, as it provides a simple and straight forward way for our community to report problems and is another avenue for Council officers to keep on-top of what’s going on across the Shire.”
