The Barossa Council will partner with the South Australian Cricket Association to host the 2025 Australian Country Cricket Championships.
The last time South Australia hosted the Championships was in 2016 in Mount Gambier.
From January 3 – 10 2025, over 250 players from six women’s and six men’s teams will complete in the eight-day tournament, giving the opportunity for Australia’s best regional players to test their skills at a high level of competition.
The hosting rights were made possible with a $20,000 contribution and in-kind support from The Barossa Council, along with support from the Barossa and Light Cricket Association.
The Championships will showcase a number of community facilities that have received significant investment through the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund, The Barossa Council and the South Australian Government’s Grassroots Funding Programs, improving facilities for local clubs by providing access to lights, new changerooms, practice facilities and oval surface upgrades.
