The Shire of Murray will welcome Federal Member for Canning, Andrew Hastie and Federal Shadow Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Regional Communications, Anne Webster, for a community forum on Monday.
The session will be held on Monday 20 October from 4:30pm to 6:00pm at the Pinjarra Civic Centre and will include a question and answer opportunity for community members to engage directly with both representatives, the Council said in a statement.
Shire President, Douglas McLarty said the event would provide an important opportunity to discuss key local priorities and issues, and get an update on the Shire’s advocacy projects.
“We’re pleased to host Dr Webster and Mr Hastie for this update and discussion with our community,” President McLarty said.
“Advocacy projects such as the Pinjarra Heavy Haulage Deviation remain critical to improving safety, supporting local businesses and enabling future growth.”
Community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about the Shire’s advocacy work and share their perspectives on regional development priorities, the Mayor said.
The event is free to attend, however registrations are essential. Please visit murray.wa.gov.au to register.
