Alpine Shire Council has voted for new leadership heading into 2023, with Councillor John Forsyth elected to the position of Mayor.
Cr Tony Keeble (pictured, left) was elected to the position of Deputy Mayor, rounding out Council’s leadership team for the next year.
Mayor Forsyth (pictured, right) thanked his fellow Councillors for their confidence in his ability to lead, and said Council was approaching 2023 with a continued focus on community engagement and customer service.
“2022 has certainly been an eventful year so far,” he said.
“We are all glad to see a move away from the COVID-19 restrictions that so greatly impacted our lives in 2020 and 2021.
“We welcomed new Chief Executive Officer Will Jeremy to the role in July, and with his help we are looking forward to building on our connection with our communities and focussing on the way we serve our customers.”
