ALGWA NSW annual conference rescheduled

Griffith City Council has advised that the 2025 Annual Conference of the Australian Local Government Women’s Association (ALGWA) NSW has been rescheduled.

Originally planned for May 1-3, the conference will now be held from Thursday 4 to Saturday 6 September 2025. The change of date follows a scheduling conflict with the recent elections.

“Griffith is proud to be hosting this significant event, which brings together women in Local Government from across the state. The conference theme, Taste the Inspiration, celebrates motivation and empowerment, encouraging participants to embrace fresh thinking and dynamic leadership,” the Council said in a statement announcing the date change.

“Delegates will hear from expert speakers, including leadership specialist Alicia McKay, who will be the MC for the event and provide valuable insights on navigating change and leading with confidence. A key feature of the program will be a hands-on, new to ALGWA, workshop from Local Government expert Emma Broomfield.”

The conference will also include essential panel discussions and delegates will take a study tour to one of Griffith’s wineries, offering an ideal setting for relationship-building and knowledge-sharing.

“With a carefully curated agenda and a strong focus on professional growth, the 2025 ALGWA NSW Conference is set to leave attendees inspired, empowered and ready to lead,” the Council said.
