Active Super ranks among top funds

Active Super has passed APRA’s inaugural performance test while also being ranked among the top-performing superannuation funds on the ATO YourSuper Comparison Tool.

Active Super, formerly known as Local Government Super, was the best-performing fund over seven years (assuming a 30-year-old with a $50,000 balance), returning 9.46%*.

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority’s (APRA) performance test is a comparison of fees versus performance over seven years as part of the federal government’s Your Future, Your Super reforms which came into effect on 1 July 2021.

“I am incredibly proud of the investment team, which continues to deliver solid long-term returns that are not only good for our members, but also the communities that we support and the environment,” said Active Super Chief Executive Officer Phil Stockwell.

“As our new name suggests, we actively pursue investments that deliver strong long-term returns for members and that also have a positive impact on the world. Our investments are assessed for their ability to deliver a strong financial performance, as well as their environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact on the world. As a leader in responsible investment, it is encouraging to see great returns are not sacrificed when investing for the good of society.”

Active Super delivered some of the best annual returns in its history, reporting record returns of more than 23%* in the year to 30 June 2021.  In the Accumulation Scheme, High Growth returned 23.69 per cent, in the Retirement Scheme High Growth provided 23.76% and in the Account-Based Pension Plan it was 26.96%.
