Local Government NSW (LGNSW) is making submissions to two inquiries that are underway into the severe flooding events impacting the state and has asked for input from affected councils.
Councils are also encouraged to make their own submissions to the inquiries and share these with LGNSW so we can bolster your advocacy, LGNSW said in a statement.
- NSW Independent Flood Inquiry, led by Professor Mary O’Kane AC and Michael Fuller APM. Submissions direct to the inquiry are due on Friday 20 May 2022.
- NSW Parliamentary inquiry into the response to major flooding across New South Wales in 2022. Submissions direct to the inquiry are due on Sunday 8 May 2022.
Both inquiries will examine the preparation for, causes of, response to and recovery from the 2022 catastrophic flooding events.
To provide input or feedback to LGNSW for inclusion in our submissions, please email Damian Thomas, LGNSW Executive Manager Advocacy, or call 02 9242 4063 by Friday 6 May.
