Muswellbrook Shire Council leadership duo re-elected

Muswellbrook Shire Council Mayor, Jeff Drayton and Deputy Mayor, De-anne Douglas, have been re-elected to lead the organisation following a vote at an Extra-Ordinary Meeting of Council last night.

Mayor Drayton said he was grateful for the confidence of his fellow Councillors and proud to continue representing the Shire community.

“I’m grateful to my fellow Councillors for their confidence in me and proud to continue serving as Mayor of Muswellbrook Shire. I look forward to continuing to work with Councillors and Council staff to deliver for our community,” Mayor Drayton said.

“This is undoubtedly an important time for our Shire. There are significant decisions being made now that will shape our community for years to come, and our focus needs to remain firmly on making sure Muswellbrook Shire gets the investment, infrastructure and opportunities it deserves.

“We have a lot to achieve, and we have a proven team of Councillors willing to do the work required to make the most of the opportunities ahead.”

Deputy Mayor Douglas said she was grateful for the opportunity to continue in the role and build on the work of the past two years.

“I’m grateful for the confidence of my fellow Councillors and look forward to continuing to work alongside Mayor Drayton and Council to deliver positive outcomes for our community,” she said.
