Final boarding call for Whyalla’s Mr Incredible

Whyalla City Council airport operations manager, Howard Aspey, has issued his final boarding call, retiring after more than 20 years with Council.

Mr Aspey has had two stints with Council, working for numerous departments – including the civil crew and parks and gardens – before spending the majority of his years at the airport, including being Manager Operations for the past six years. He even played Mr Incredible on one of Council’s Christmas pageant floats!

“Council’s been an amazing place to work – I’ve met some great people and I’ve really enjoyed my time,” Mr Aspey said.

As an avid gardener, he plans to spend his spare time establishing his property near Tumby Bay, where he will ultimately retire with wife, Di, who he today thanked for her support over the years.

“I’d also like to thank everyone I’ve worked with – I’ve learned so much and gained some great friendships which will hopefully continue.”
