New City of Busselton Council sworn in

Following the weekend’s 2025 City of Busselton Council Election, five Councillors have now been officially sworn into office in a ceremony held in the Council Chambers.

Councillors Peter Adams, Anne Ryan, Herman Dykstra, Mikayla Love have been elected for a four-year term, and Councillor Max Mueller has been elected for a two-year term.

These Councillors will join Mayor Phill Cronin, Cr Kate Cox, Cr Jarrod Kennedy and Cr Andrew Macnish to form a new Council comprising a total of nine Elected Members.

Mayor, Phill Cronin congratulated the three new Councillors who were elected for the first time along with the two returning Councillors, Anne Ryan and Mikayla Love.

“This new Council comprises a diverse mix of skills and backgrounds and I look forward to working with them all to move our community forward in a positive way,” he said.

“I thank all the members of the public who took the time to vote in this election and appreciate the high level of interest shown in this election with 19 candidates contesting five positions.

“I also extend my sincere gratitude to our two outgoing Councillors, Val Kaigg and Jodie Lee, who have served our community with dedication, bringing local voices, values and aspirations into the Council Chambers.

“The new Council has many exciting and challenging decisions ahead, and I look forward to working together as a team to deliver on our vision for the City of Busselton – a place where environment, lifestyle and opportunity thrive.”
