Local Government NSW (LGNSW) is seeking Expressions of Interest from six council staff across the state to join a working group to assist with the development of the first Primary Prevention of Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence toolkit for councils.
LGNSW says the working group will be selected to ensure diverse geographical representation and professional expertise within the committee.
“This diversity will help ensure the toolkit is practical, inclusive, and widely applicable,” it said in a statement.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience and understanding of the local government sector;
- A background in working with communities and organisations to deliver primary prevention;
- Experience with the development of capacity building resources;
- Commitment to strengthening the NSW Government’s Pathways to Prevention Strategy;
- Management support to participate in the working group.
The working group will be required to commit to at least six meetings over 12 months. While meetings will primarily be held online, LGNSW can assist with related costs if meeting in person at LGNSW is considered valuable for key activities.
Contributors will be acknowledged in the final publication, both personally and for the council they represent.
To express interest, please email a brief outline in less than one page by addressing the eligibility points above and email by Monday 4 August.
