Edward River Council has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer for the organisation.
Jack Bond (pictured) has been named in the role after an extensive search for the right person to lead the organisation into the future, said Mayor, Ashley Hall.
“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jack Bond as the new CEO on a five-year
performance-based contract. He will officially take up the role on 29 January 2025,” said
Mayor Hall.
With more than 15 years of experience in local government, the Mayor said Mr Bond brings an exceptional skill set to the role, specialising in infrastructure, asset management and community development.
A Deniliquin local, Mr Bond began his career at Murray Shire Council, before gaining broader experience in Albury-Wodonga and the private sector. Most recently, he served as Director of Infrastructure at Murray River Council where he successfully led major projects, regional advocacy initiatives and organisational transformation.
“Jack will bring a wealth of talent and experience to Edward River Council,” Mayor Hall said.
“His extensive background and leadership skills make him the perfect fit for our community
as we work together to build a thriving and sustainable future.”
Mr Bond said he was eager to step into the new role.
“I am honoured and excited to take on the role of CEO at Edward River Council. With deep ties to Deniliquin, I am passionate about working with the community to build on our strengths and realise the opportunities ahead,” he said.
“Together, we will focus on enhancing liveability, driving growth, and ensuring Edward
River remains a vibrant and thriving region for generations to come.”
Current Interim CEO, Gary Arnold, also voiced his support for Mr Bond’s appointment.
“Jack is a great appointment; I have come to know him well during my time at Edward River Council. I wish him every success in the role and have already begun preparing for a comprehensive handover process,” he said.
“Under Mr Bond’s steady leadership, the future of Edward River looks very bright,” said Mayor Hall.
