Murrumbidgee Council is calling on local business owners and operators to share their perspectives on the broader needs of industry in the region, where they think Council can improve and where opportunities may lie.
Murrumbidgee Mayor, Ruth McRae said Council runs the survey every two years to gather valuable information about the current and future economic health of the area.
She said the survey provides Council with a great insight into business trading conditions, challenges and opportunities in the area.
Council’s Economic Development & Tourism Manager, Kellie Dissegna said information gathered in the last business survey guided the 2019 Economic Development Strategy.
Ms Dissegna said the survey will assist with the framework for the Murrumbidgee Council Investment Attraction Strategy, which will be a leading document in determining Council’s priorities in attracting investment to the area.
“The survey data will be key in shaping Council’s approach to economic development, including how we attract and facilitate new investment, support our existing businesses, how we better prepare our local workforce and a range of other initiatives,” she said.
“The information provided by our local businesses will be invaluable in helping us to understand business sentiment, and also to identify trends, gaps in training and other key issues.”
