Wingecarribee council GM contract renewed

Wingecarribee Shire Council has entered into a new contract with General Manager, Lisa Miscamble.

In a statement, the Council said the contract renewal reaffirmed confidence in the strong and stable leadership that has guided the organisation through a period of significant change and achievement.

“Since her appointment in 2021, Ms Miscamble has worked tirelessly to address long-standing issues, restore good governance and position Council to deliver for the community,” the Council said.

Over the past four years, her leadership has seen:

  • Delivery of more than $100 million in capital works projects, including two new sewage treatment plants.
  • Securing funding for the Mittagong Playhouse restoration and completing the Bowral Memorial Hall refurbishment.
  • Construction of a new Emergency Operations Centre in Moss Vale and delivery of a contemporary animal shelter.
  • Modernising IT systems including improved cyber security, a new customer relationship management system, and comprehensive Asset Management Program.
  • Improvements in organisational culture, with staff turnover reduced from 20% to 15%, and the introduction of a fairer, modernised salary system.

Deputy Mayor, Erin Foley said the renewal of the contract reflects the organisation’s progress, Council’s confidence in its leadership and its commitment to stability moving forward.

“The General Manager inherited an organisation facing some big challenges and she hasn’t shied away from the hard work,” Cr Foley said.

“Lisa has worked tirelessly to address long-standing challenges and build a solid foundation for Council to continue rebuilding and delivering for our community. That’s taken resilience, determination, and a great deal of behind-the-scenes effort that our community may not always see.

“The community can have confidence that their Council is future-focused, financially responsible, and committed to delivering the infrastructure, services, and outcomes that matter most.”
