City of Whittlesea Council has appointed Clublinks as the new operator of Mill Park Stadium, which is the home of the Whittlesea City Basketball Association (WCBA) and a hub for local basketball, community sport and social connection.
The Council said Clublinks brings extensive experience in managing community sport and recreation facilities, including the successful operation of Narrandjeri Stadium and Bundha Sports Centre for neighbouring councils.
“The appointment will ensure Mill Park Stadium continues to deliver on its vision as a welcoming, inclusive and accessible community facility that encourages participation in sport and active recreation while supporting the health and wellbeing of people of all ages and abilities,” the Council said.
“The transition to the new operator has been carefully planned to ensure there is no disruption for existing user groups, sporting clubs, program participants or casual visitors, who will continue to enjoy access to the stadium and its facilities.
“The partnership also marks an exciting new chapter for the stadium, with a strong focus on enhancing the customer experience, growing participation and delivering positive community outcomes.”
The Council said future programming for the stadium will include increased opportunities for juniors, women and girls, older adults and people from diverse communities.
