Five environmental and community groups have received WA Government funding to support local conservation efforts in the City of South Perth.
The State Government has allocated almost $60,000 to the organisations as part of its 2025 Local Government Election Commitments.
The projects will support revegetation, biodiversity, conservation education and bushland improvements across the City of South Perth.
Successful projects were:
- JMH Action Group – for revegetation, planting and maintenance of bushland at Como High School (Department of Education) and adjacent City-managed land, including weed removal and fencing repairs;
- Friends of Manning Bushland – for the replacement of a limestone path within Manning Bushland;
- Friends of Davilak Crescent Bushland – for the installation of a bee hotel, bug hotel, log seating and interpretive materials;
- Friends of David Street Reserve – for the installation of a wildlife water trough at David Street Reserve ;
- Wildlife Advocacy South Perth – for the installation of a community awareness sign at Sir James Mitchell Park.
The projects are expected to be delivered by the end of 2026 with support from the City of South Perth Council.
