Trentham named Australia’s best tiny town

Trentham in Victoria’s Hepburn Shire has been named the nation’s Top Tiny Tourism Town at the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards in Canberra today.

The national award comes after the town picked up the 2025 Victoria Top Tourism Town in July.

Trentham took out the Gold Award, with the NSW south coast town of Huskisson taking out Silver and the seaside Queensland Town of 1770 being awarded Bronze.

Hepburn Shire COuncil Mayor, Don Henderson, said the accolade was a remarkable achievement for Trentham and the region.

“We are incredibly proud and excited to see the benefits this will bring to our community and local businesses,” he said.

“Trentham stands out for its natural beauty, charm, community spirit, and visitor appeal. This coveted national award is recognition of Trentham’s unique tourism offerings.”

Council says it worked closely with Destination Central Victoria (formerly Daylesford Macedon Tourism) on the application and promotional video.

“Thank you to Council’s Economic Development team, Destination Central Victoria and local businesses for their hard work in submitting a strong application. For all those visitors and community members who voted for Trentham, thank you. Trentham is now recognised as the best tiny tourist town in Australia,” said Mayor Henderson.
