Toongabbie’s Sue Savage Reserve has reopened after a $4 million upgrade which includes a new skate park, BMX pump track, fitness equipment, amenity building, park furniture, drainage upgrade, landscaping and additional parking bays.
The project is part of City of Parramatta Council’s Sue Savage Reserve and Reynolds Park Master Plan that covers 17 hectares.
Lord Mayor, Martin Zaiter said the exciting space will provide a vibrant outdoor space for residents and the community in the City’s west.
“This is a huge win for our Toongabbie community who now have a modern multigenerational facility with something for everyone to enjoy,” Lord Mayor Zaiter said.
“We want open spaces across our City to be more than simple parks, we want local kids to be able to play different ball sports and ride their scooters, bikes or skateboards safely in their neighbourhood.
“Sue Savage Reserve has undergone a spectacular transformation, so I encourage families and people of all ages to come and check out the action-packed space for themselves.”
This project has been funded by City of Parramatta and the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program.
“Young people, and those young at heart, can now enjoy an exciting new BMX pump track at Sue Savage Reserve as part of a $4 million investment by the Minns Labor Government through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program,” said State Member for Parramatta, Donna Davis.
“Whether you like to shoot hoops, are a BMX enthusiast, a skateboarder or you enjoy the convenience of an outdoor gym – there is something for everyone at Sue Savage Reserve.”
