A tender for five significant infrastructure projects aimed at bolstering health services in the Kimberley and Pilbara has been released on Tenders WA.
The tender incorporates two packages for contractors to bid, which include the following Cook Government priority projects:
- Halls Creek Renal Service;
- Broome Renal Hostel;
- Broome Step Up/Step Down facility;
- Hedland Health Campus Magnetic Resonance Imaging; and
- South Hedland Step Up/Step Down facility.
The projects are being bundled together to create a more attractive package for contractors, while streamlining Government processes, said Health and Mental Health Minister, Amber-Jade Sanderson.
“These are important infrastructure projects for the communities of Halls Creek, Broome, and Hedland,” said Minister Sanderson.
“The two new Step Up/Step Down facilities will provide vital services and support for people with mental health issues in those communities, allowing them to remain close to family and friends while they recover.
“By bundling together these projects, the tender becomes more attractive to contractors and creates a more sustainable pipeline of work for industry.
“This approach also drives cost savings in economies of scale and enables constructions to commence faster.”
The tender is available on Tenders WA and closes on 11 October.
