Toowoomba firm, Bryant Building Contractors Pty Ltd, has been awarded the tender to upgrade the Rockville Park clubhouse on Tor Street at Wilsonton Heights, Toowoomba Regional Council has announced.
Council Environment and Community Services Committee chair, Councillor James O’Shea said work would start in early spring.
“The project will replace the ageing clubhouse amenities and offer sporting groups, schools, residents and other users access to modern and accessible facilities,” Cr O’Shea said.
“Congratulations to local company Bryant Building Contractors Pty Ltd on being awarded the tender to complete this significant project.”
Cr O’Shea said the upgrade will allow user groups to host significant local sporting events and improve the modern functionality of the clubhouse amenities.
“The project will see additional people with disabilities (PWD) compliant toilets, ambulant compliant toilets, unisex toilets, unisex showers, player and umpire change rooms, first aid room, meeting room, kitchen and servery, plus seating areas provided at the clubhouse.”
“Landscaping improvements will be completed around the oval’s boundary,” he said.
Council allocated $3.17 million to the project in its recently adopted 2022-23 Budget.
Construction is expected to start in September 2022, with the new clubhouse scheduled to open in late April 2023.
