Town of Cambridge Council has presented a certificate of appreciation to a local school student for her passion and dedication to environmental causes with the local government area.
Council CEO, Karl Heiden congratulated Cassie Clarkson for her efforts to campaign for greater soft plastic recycling opportunities in the Town of Cambridge.
Currently the only way to recycle soft plastics is using Redcycle bins located at Coles and Woolworths supermarkets.
Cassie delivered a petition to Council requesting it provide further information to the public about soft plastics recycling.
Mayor, Keri Shannon thanked Cassie for her hard work in raising awareness for the cause in the Council’s recent Ordinary Council Meeting.
“It is great to see someone young in the community trying to push us to do better,” Mayor Shannon said.
