Sydney’s Strathfield Councillors have re-elected Karen Pensabene as Mayor and elected Councillor Sandy Reddy as Deputy Mayor for the remainder of the Mayoral term ending in September 2024.
“It has been a very rewarding experience to serve our local government area as Mayor over
the past six months, and I am committed to continuing my work to nurture strong community bonds over the next year in this role,” said Mayor Pensabene.
“I look forward to working alongside Councillor Reddy, a fellow Strathfield Citizen of the Year, to represent our community and deliver services which they truly value.
“I’m also honoured to be part of a Council driven by a diverse and inclusive leadership style. We greatly understand the importance of ensuring Council’s financial stability and creating a sustainable future for our community,” she said.
Councillor Reddy said she was honoured to be able to serve the Strathfield community as Deputy Mayor.
“I am delighted to be elected as Deputy Mayor and to work closely with all Councillors and
the staff at Council to serve our community. As Deputy Mayor, I will look to focus on the
needs of our residents.”
“I am passionate about local matters affecting our community and ensuring they’re brought to the table through open collaboration with our residents. I’d like to thank our residents for placing their trust in me as an elected member of Council,” she said.
