Security patrols to continue in The Vines

WA’s City of Swan Council has resolved to continue security patrols in The Vines suburb for three years but not reinstate a community security patrol in the suburb of Ellenbrook.

Council says the decision followed an extensive community consultation in October this year.

“The City of Swan will undertake a competitive tender process for a 24 hours a day, seven days a week, service from July 1, 2022,” Council said in a statement.

“Property owners in The Vines will be asked to provide feedback again at the two-year mark and prior to the service continuing beyond its contract.”

This service will be cost neutral to other ratepayers who are not in The Vines, Council said.

“Community safety is a key priority in the City’s Strategic Community Plan. The City provides a range of crime prevention and community safety initiatives in The Vines and Ellenbrook, in partnership with WA Police and local community groups.”
