Strathbogie Shire Council has begun its search for a permanent Chief Executive Officer with the support of external recruitment agency, Gem Executive.
Mayor, Claire Ewart-Kennedy (pictured) said the recruitment of the CEO is one of the first key tasks of the new Council.
“Recruiting a permanent Chief Executive Officer is one of the most important priorities and decisions for the new Council and we are looking forward to working with an inspirational leader who will champion our community and ensure delivery of our strategic plan.”
“Councillors are looking for an experienced and authentic leader, and a confident communicator who can work across the organisation to engage and empower staff in the delivery of essential community services and asset management,” she said.
Mayor Ewart-Kennedy said she expected the recruitment process to be finalised by May.
“I would also like to extend my thanks to all Council staff, under the leadership of Interim Chief Executive Officer Tim Tamlin who continue to do a great job in stabilising and improving council operations following the suspension of council in late 2023, and the resignation of the previous CEO in July 2024,” she said.
For a confidential conversation about this opportunity, call Nick Kelly from Gem Executive on 0497476548 or email nick@gemexecutive.com.au.
Applications for the CEO position will close on Monday 10 February at 5pm.
