Port Pirie shortlisted for tourism awards

Port Pirie Regional Council has announced that Port Pirie has been shortlisted for two major tourism awards in the 2024 South Australian Tourism Awards.

The Port Pirie Visitor Information Centre is a finalist in the ‘Visitor Information Services’ category, while the Port Pirie SALA Winter Festival has been nominated in the ‘Festivals and Events’ category.

The Council says the nominations reflect the hard work and dedication of the Visitor Information Centre, Council, and the local community in promoting Port Pirie as a premier tourist destination.

The South Australian Tourism Awards annually recognise excellence in the state’s tourism sector.  Finalists are selected through a rigorous process including a detailed written submission, site inspection by an Adelaide-based judge, and a panel review.

Winners and medallists will be announced at the 2024 South Australian Tourism Awards Gala Dinner, to be held on Friday 1 November, at the Adelaide Oval.
