Parks award for Campbelltown City

South Australia’s Campbelltown City Council has received an award and a commendation at the 2022 Parks and Leisure Australia (SA/NT) Regional Awards of Excellence.

The awards recognise high quality recreation projects by showcasing the best in the industry and celebrating ‘the People Behind the Places’.

The City’sĀ Paradise Recreation Plaza Master PlanĀ (pictured) was crowned the winner in the Strategic and Master Planning category. The project will now go on to compete at the National Level in October.

“Council would like to thank everyone who participated in the Community Consultation for this project, which is now in the detailed design stage following the allocation of $1.52 million in grant funding from the Government of South Australia’s Open Space Grant Program,” it said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Grandview Grove ReserveĀ received a Commendation in the Playspace <$500,000 Category.

“Over the last 3 years, this open space upgrade has seen the part closure of a road to increase the size of the reserve – joining two smaller parcels together into one larger space – and the addition of new play equipment and outdoor exercise equipment to add new opportunities for local residents to enjoy their local reserve,” Council said.
