Shoalhaven City Council has begun work on a $5.1 million upgrade of the Park Road Netball Courts in South Nowra.
The project includes the complete replacement of six of the 12 existing netball courts and resurfacing of all 12 netball courts with new plexipave material.
Council says the upgrade will provide a better playing experience in terms of texture, longevity, and athletic capability.
The upgrade will also include drainage, lighting infrastructure, carparking and pathways.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Amanda Findley said the redevelopment of the netball courts was an important part of the Council’s plan to provide accessible community facilities.
“The netball courts are a popular recreational facility used by all ages in our community. Council is proud to have funded the upgrades to the Park Road Netball Courts which support community wellbeing through fostering active and healthy communities,” Mayor Findley said.
The project was identified in the Delivery Program Operational Plan & Budget 2022-2023 and is anticipated to be completed by April 2023, weather permitting.
