Nominations open for Central Darling Shire Council election

Candidate nominations for the Central Darling Shire Council election are now open, the NSW Electoral Commission has advised.

Nominations can be lodged with the Commission from today and must be lodged by 12 noon on Wednesday, 20 August. Late nominations and amendments cannot be accepted.

In July last year, the NSW Government announced plans to bring Central Darling Shire Council out of Administration.

Central Darling Shire will become a ‘Rural and Remote Council’ made up of three locally elected councillors from the community and three councillors appointed by the NSW Government.

Nomination forms and locations to lodge a nomination are available at elections.nsw.gov.au

Candidates who need help with lodging their nomination can email candidates@elections.nsw.gov.au or call 1300 022 011.

A final list of candidates, in ballot paper order, will be available after the ballot paper draw on Thursday, 21 August.
