Penrith’s newest sport and recreation destination is less than one week away from its grand opening.
Penrith City Council General Manager, Andrew Moore said he was looking forward to seeing the community enjoying the precinct for the first time on Saturday.
“Grab your family or friends and come along to check out all of the exciting new facilities available in the Gipps Street Recreation Precinct,” Mr Moore said.
“There’s something for everyone with children’s play areas, sports fields, a skate park, pump track, sports courts, outdoor fitness equipment, picnic and BBQ areas, public artwork, and plenty of parking and toilets.”
The $44.5 million Gipps Street Recreation Precinct project is proudly funded by Council with the support of the NSW Government, which is contributing a combined $13.5 million through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program ($7 million), Multi-Sport Community Facility Fund ($5 million), Greater Cities Sport Facility Fund ($1 million), and the Places to Play Program ($500,000).
The precinct is located at 34 Gipps Street, Claremont Meadows NSW 2747.
From 11am until 3pm on Saturday, the Gipps Street Recreation Precinct will host free activities and entertainment for community members.
