New Murrumbidgee finance chief

Murrumbidgee Council has announced the appointment of Kaitlin Salzke (pictured) as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Council General Manager, John Scarce, welcomed Ms Salzke’s appointment and said she brings a wealth of experience and expertise in financial management.

“Ms Salzke’s appointment is the final cog in the leadership team that will play an instrumental role in shaping our Council as we position ourselves as a proactive and sustainable organisation for the future,” Mr Scarce said.

Ms Salzke, born and bred in the Riverina and now living in Jerilderie, said she has been really impressed with the whole Council area.

“My family moved here less than a month ago but the strong sense of community is already clearly evident. We’ve been warmly welcomed, and we’re looking forward to familiarising ourselves with the local area and its residents,” Ms Salzke said.

“I’m pleased to make this transition into the local government sector, and I’m excited to get stuck into the responsibilities associated with the position. It’s an exciting time for the LGA and I expect to work closely with the leadership team and Council through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead,” she said.

Ms Salzke’s experience includes eight years in public accounting practice. She is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
