New Gordon park opens to the public

Ku-ring-gai Council has transformed an unused plot of public land into a new park in Dumaresq Street Gordon, which opened today.

New seating has been added to the 1,458 square metre park, making the new green space an attractive area during lunchtime or after hours for office workers and nearby residents to enjoy, the Council said in a statement.

The creation of the new park follows a Council decision in November 2023 to provide more green space for communal use in Gordon.

While the new green space is located around 200 metres from the busy Pacific Highway, Mayor Christine Kay said it was a quiet and pleasant area for workers and residents to sit and unwind.

“This new green space is a welcome addition to the Gordon town centre, which has a high proportion of medium density housing,” she said.

“It underlines our commitment to providing new recreational areas in suburbs where there is high population growth.”
