Shoalhaven City Councillor, Evan Christen, has been elected as the organisation’s new Deputy Mayor.
Councillor Christen (pictured) will now serve the role until the next Local Government election to be held in September 2024.
Outside of his professional career as irrigation management specialist, Cr Christen volunteers in the Rural Fire Service, community groups and in crisis and suicide counselling, Council said in a statement.
He has a background in farming and research and values the land, biodiversity and environmental management.
“I congratulate Councillor Christen on his appointment as Deputy Mayor and appreciate the diversity of skills he brings to his role,” said Mayor, Amanda Findley.
