New appointments at Eurobodalla

NSW

Eurobodalla Shire Council has announced the appointment of two senior staff.

Graham Attenborough will start work with the Council as its new Director of Infrastructure Services later this month, bringing with him 30 years of civil construction experience in government and the private sector.

Council General Manager, Warwick Winn said he was heartened the organisation was attracting staff of Mr Attenborough’s calibre.

“Graham has a thirty-year career in the private sector and government, in Australia and overseas,” Mr Winn said.

“A civil engineer, his career has focused largely on water sector projects; managing operations and delivering infrastructure. Graham has worked for several state government entities, most recently as a chief operating officer with the NSW Department of Planning. He also has significant emergency management experience.”

In a second appointment announced today, Stephanie Speedy, who has been acting in the role of Finance Director at the Council, has now been appointed to the role.

“Stephanie Speedy is our new finance and corporate services director, while Graham Attenborough will head up our infrastructure team,” said Mr Winn.

“Both are leaders in their respective fields, passionate about customer service and good outcomes for the community, and have strong local ties – Steph has raised her family here, while Graham has owned and enjoyed a holiday home here for many years.”

Mr Winn said both roles were vital in delivering the finance-led, delivery-driven approach that will enable the organisation to face up to its fiscal challenges.

“Steph is a chartered accountant of 20 years’ experience in both private and public sectors,” he said.

“She’s been acting in this key leadership role for several months. With her strong background in change management and continuous improvement, top tier financial and management accounting experience across several continents, and over five years’ experience here at Council, she will be instrumental in bringing together a finance strategy that will see us living within our means. In fact, she’s already hard at it.”

Mr Attenborough will start with Council on Monday 31 July, after relocating to Eurobodalla from Sydney.
