New Albury event brings laughs to laneway

Albury City Council has announced the launch of Laughs in the Lane, a new adults-only event set to transform the city’s AMP Laneway into a hub of comedy, music and food on Saturday, 9 May.

As the inaugural event of its kind in Albury, the over-18s evening will showcase the region’s creative talent while delivering a fresh, urban entertainment experience, said Mayor, Kevin Mack.

“Laughs in the Lane is a fantastic new event for Albury, and we’re thrilled to be bringing this inaugural show to life in our iconic AMP Lane. It’s a great opportunity to showcase our incredible local talent while creating a unique night out,” Mayor Mack said.

The event will feature a comedy lineup headlined by former local, Oliver Hunter, alongside MC Josh Liston and rising stars including Aidan Mungai, Rusty Mitchell, Cruze Batcheldor and Sam Lloyd.

Live music performances from Ronan Kruger, Kamali Lamba, Craig Quilliam, Samantha Campbell and Josh Campbell will provide the soundtrack for the evening, while live artist Alice Inkling adds a visual element with expressive painting throughout the night.

A diverse street food lineup – including Pimientos Paella, Dutch Pancakes and DASH Cakes + Coffee – will keep guests fuelled, with drinks available from Temperance & General in AMP Lane. Nearby hospitality venues will also be open for the occasion.
