Muswellbrook gets a Gather in the Glow-up

Muswellbrook’s Gather in the Glow event has been hailed a success, with more than 2,000 revellers flocking to the Council-curated nightlife activation in the town centre.

The light, entertainment and food spectacular lit up the centre of Muswellbrook in a nocturnal celebration for locals and visitors, also delivering for the NSW Government’s Community Improvement District (CID) Project.

The influx of lighting, live entertainment, food and activity centred on the revitalised heart of Muswellbrook, said Council Tourism and Events Coordinator, Stephen Wright.

“Gather in the Glow was a tremendous success and I was delighted to see the community embracing creativity and innovation in such a vibrant setting. It truly showcased Council’s commitment to making our Shire a place where inclusivity, creativity and community can thrive,” Mr Wright said.

“The event breathed new life into Stage 1 of the town centre, demonstrating the impact of activating public spaces. It has transformed how our community experiences Muswellbrook at night. I really hope it has opened the door for event organisers to see the precinct as a venue.”

Council worked with local businesses to form an event Community Reference Group (CRG).

Muswellbrook Mayor, Jeff Drayton praised the dedication of everyone behind Gather in the Glow including staff, volunteers, local business and attendees.

“Gather in the Glow demonstrates what’s possible when Council and community come together with a vision and passion for their town,” Mayor Drayton said.

“We’ve raised the bar for Muswellbrook and the town centre – this event presented the town as connected, welcoming and alive after dark.”

Gather in the Glow was funded by Transport for NSW through the Community Improvement District initiative.
