Murrumbidgee Council has partnered with GrantGuru to help local community groups, not-for-profit organisations and grassroots projects access funding.
The new Murrumbidgee Grant Finder is a free online hub that brings together grants from federal, state and local governments, as well as corporate and philanthropic sources. It has been designed to make finding the right funding simple, so locals can focus on creating projects that benefit the community, said Mayor, Ruth McRae OAM.
Mayor McRae said the tool was a big win for community groups and the exciting range of initiatives and projects they undertake.
“We know that local volunteers and community groups do amazing work, but finding funding can be complicated and time consuming,” the Mayor said.
“The Murrumbidgee Grant Finder gives our community an easy and free way to discover grants and make their projects happen – whether it’s improving local facilities, running events or supporting people in need.”
The hub allows users to search for current grants, set up alerts for new opportunities, and access practical tips to prepare strong applications.
The council encourages all local groups, from small clubs to larger organisations, to explore the Murrumbidgee Grant Finder and see what funding opportunities are available.
“This tool is about empowering our community,” the Mayor said.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for local people to bring their ideas to life and make Murrumbidgee an even stronger, more connected place.”
