Mornington Peninsula Shire Council’s Open Spaces maintenance tender is now open.
The successful tenderer will be responsible for the delivery of Council’s open spaces maintenance services from July 2024 for up to six years. The scope of the services includes maintaining sports fields, cemeteries, playgrounds, skate and bike facilities, grassed areas, garden beds, fencing, park furniture, signage and beach cleaning.
“This maintenance tender addresses how we best manage our much-loved public open spaces, whilst adapting to changing weather patterns, and covers activities such as mowing and garden bed maintenance to looking after sporting facilities and playgrounds,” said Mayor, Steve Holland.
“We have heard loud and clear from our community on their needs and priorities. This tender ensures that locals and visitors can continue to enjoy our incredible part of the world to the fullest, with well-maintained open spaces.”
The Open Space tender is the third to be released under Council’s newly reshaped maintenance services delivery model, ensuring effective and efficient management of its $2.3 billion worth of community assets.
Council’s Road Corridor Maintenance tender opened in late October and closes on at 2pm Tuesday 14 February 2023. The Peninsula’s Tree Management tender opened in mid-December and closes on 2pm, Tuesday 28 February 2023.
Council says the tender for Bushland Management will be advertised soon. Buildings and facilities maintenance services are to be delivered through a series of direct service contracts planned for procurement later this year, along with a cleaning services contract. Council’s maintenance services will be further supported by supplier panels.
