Busselton and Dunsborough Libraries have recorded more than 1.03 million interactions with community members during the 2025/26 financial year – the first-time the City of Busselton’s library services have surpassed the one million mark.
The Council says the milestone reflects the important role libraries continue to play in community life, with residents engaging with a wide range of services both in person and online.
Mayor, Phill Cronin said the milestone was a clear reflection of the value local libraries bring to the community.
“Our local libraries are much more than places to borrow books. They are welcoming community spaces where people can learn, connect, access support and discover new opportunities. Reaching more than one million interactions highlights the important role they continue to play in the lives of our residents,” said the Mayor.
Physical loans remained strong at more than 206,000 during the 25/26 financial year, while digital borrowing continued to grow, reaching more than 113,000 checkouts during the year.
“Behind every interaction is an incredible team helping residents and visitors find information, solve problems, discover something new or connect with the services and support they need,” said Mayor Cronin.
