The Municipal Association of Victoria has honoured the exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment of the state’s long-serving councillors with its Councillor Service Awards.
Presented at MAV’s recent Annual Conference Dinner, the awards highlight the dedication of many to their communities and the local government sector.
MAV President, Councillor David Clark said each recipient had demonstrated exemplary leadership and a steadfast commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
“Being a councillor is a demanding role, and often completed as a second job or alongside raising a family,” said Cr Clark.
“It can be a thankless task at times, with expectations changing all the time. It’s important the MAV mark these milestones in a special way through our Councillor Service awards.”
