The Malaysian State Minister of Pahang Tourism, Culture, Environment, Plantation & Commodities has visited Wagga Wagga City Council to announce the naming of ‘Wagga Wagga Avenue’ in Temerloh, Pahang Malaysia, along with delegates from Temerloh City Council.
The visit coincided with a working visit by the State of Pahang to promote tourism to New Zealand and Australia.
Acting Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga, Councillor Jenny McKinnon and General Manager Peter Thompson received the delegation at the Council Chambers and spoke with Temerloh City Council officials in Temerloh via zoom for the live announcement of the avenue naming.
The State Minister spoke of the Good Neighbour Association relationship that was instigated in 1965, and their gratitude to the people of Wagga Wagga for their charity and assistance following the creation of the nation in September 1963.
The Wagga Wagga community donated a Land Rover to help members of their community travel to receive medical assistance.
During the live announcement, members of the Temerloh City Council revealed the new signage at an event in Malaysia.
