Local Government NSW (LGNSW) has announced the continuation of Contaminated Land support for councils.
“We are pleased to announce continuation of the Contaminated Land webpages and network pilot project in FY24/25, funded by the NSW EPA and hosted by LGNSW,” the association said in a statement.
The initiative aims to support councils in managing contaminated land, fostering collaboration and informed decision-making.
LGNSW’s contaminated land webpages provide councils with resources, tools and up-to-date information, guidelines, and best practices in managing contaminated land.
“This centralised hub can assist councils with the knowledge required to navigate the complexities of land management with confidence,” LGNSW says.
The Contaminated Land Network hosted by LGNSW serves as a platform for councils to come together, share experiences, and collaborate on sustainable and impactful solutions. The Network hosts monthly meetings with presenters and case studies on topics such as legislative and policy frameworks, remediation methods and managing contamination on council-managed land.
“By fostering knowledge exchange and building strong networks, we can collectively contribute to a greener and healthier environment for all.”
“Local and state government staff are welcome to register as a member of the Contaminated Land Network by completing and submitting the Expression of Interest form.”
