Kiama Council will begin a series of community meetings from tomorrow to explain the short-term and long-term implications of the organisation’s proposed Delivery Program and Operational Plan for the next financial year (2024-25).
Chief Operating Officer, Joe Gaudiosi said the new financial year marked the beginning of short-term budgetary measures aimed at achieving long-term financial sustainability.
“The Delivery Programs and Operational Plans for the next two years must be conservative to meet the conditions of the NSW Government’s Performance Improvement Order,” Mr Gaudiosi said.
“We’ll be delivering the essentials and maintaining assets, but that’s about it.
“That includes a very modest $13.9 million capital works program, which is primarily funded by grants and reserves.
“This has implications for our community, in terms of what they can expect from Council over the next couple of years.”
The Kiama community will have its chance to provide feedback at the meetings:
- Thursday 30 May (11am) – North Kiama Neighbourhood Centre
- Monday 3 June (5.30pm) – Joyce Wheatley Community Centre
- Tuesday 4 June (2pm) – Gerringong Town Hall
- Thursday 6June (11am) – Jamberoo School of Arts.
