Victoria’s Baw Baw Shire Council has announced the appointment of Leanne Hurst as Director Planning and Development.
Council says Ms Hurst’s (pictured) appointment follows a thorough recruitment process led by Camden Search and Selection.
“It is with great pleasure that I announce this appointment. Ms Hurst brings with her a wealth of experience in planning, development and delivering liveable communities,” said Council CEO, Mark Dupe.
“Baw Baw Shire is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Victoria. Ms Hurst has the expertise and the background to hit the ground running. I know she’s enthusiastic about getting started and so are we.
“On behalf of Baw Baw Shire Council, I’d like to welcome her to the team. I look forward to working with her to deliver great planning outcomes for our community.”
She joins Baw Baw Shire Council as an experienced local government professional with 25 years in the sector working in both rural and urban council settings.
Most recently, Ms Hurst served as the General Manager Community and Place at the City of Launceston where she was responsible for directing the Council’s externally facing services, including City Development, Community Relations and Liveable Communities.
“I’m looking forward to joining the progressive team at Baw Baw Shire Council,” says Ms Hurst.
“I’m excited at the opportunities presented by leading the Council’s Planning and Development services during a period of significant population growth.”
Ms Hurst will take up her new position from 20 December 2021.
