Local Government NSW holds a variety of exciting and informative member events annually and is currently seeking councils interested in hosting events in 2027 and 2028.
The events on offer are:
- LGNSW Destination and Visitor Economy Conference – May 2027
- LGNSW Water Management Conference – September 2027
- LGNSW Annual Conference: Metropolitan – November 2027
- LGNSW Annual Conference: Rural and Regional – November 2028.
The Destination and Visitor Economy Conference will equip delegates with the tools, knowledge and insights to nurture and unlock the full potential of their council’s economic development strategy.
The Water Management Conference provides local government with a broad range of information on water management and issues primarily associated with water utilities. The conference presents an opportunity for councillors, council staff, water managers, government representatives and the broader industry to tackle key water management issues and discuss ways to achieve a sustainable future.
The LGNSW Annual Conference provides an opportunity for members to share ideas, seek inspiration, and help determine our sector’s policy directions for the coming year. Council-submitted motions are debated and resolved to set advocacy priorities for the year ahead, while a trade show, workshops, training, and plenary sessions are available to support delegates in our efforts to effectively represent our communities.
The conference also hosts a variety of social and networking events, including the President’s Welcome Function, Conference Dinner, ALGWA Breakfast and other networking opportunities for attending VIPs, government officials, delegates and supporting partners.
LGNSW’s conferences generate considerable economic and reputational benefits a significant conference brings to an LGA, the Association said in a statement.
