Griffith council welcomes new youth advisor

Griffith City Council has welcomed a new Youth Advisor to its ranks, supporting Council’s ongoing commitment to engaging and empowering young people across the community.

Newly-appointed Tithi Patel brings valuable experience from her time as a member of Council’s Youth Advisory Group (YAG), giving her a strong understanding of local youth programs, events and priorities, the Council said in a statement.

“I am excited to be a part of something that contributes to a fun, safe and supportive environment in our local community where youth can express and advocate for themselves,” said Ms Patel.

She also brings a creative focus to the role, having contributed to many YAG events through visual arts.

“I really enjoy visual arts and being creative, which has become a key element in many YAG events, including face painting at Glow Roller Disco and Henna art at Sounds of Spring and Sounds of Autumn.”

“Being a previous member of YAG, I’ve had the privilege of creating connections with other young people and I’m excited to help others do the same,” she said.

Council also thanked outgoing Youth Advisor, Charli Scott, for her dedication and contribution to youth engagement in Griffith.
