Griffith City Council and Argyle Housing have celebrated the official opening of Griffin
Green, an innovative affordable housing project for the city.
The Council says the development is the result of its successful collaboration with Argyle
Housing, and the Australian Government as part of the Building Better Regions Fund.
The initiative encompasses 20 townhouses and 42 build-ready lots, aiming to provide
quality housing solutions for the Griffith community and address the urgent need for affordable accommodation in the area.
Mayor, Doug Curran said he was thrilled to see Griffin Green come to fruition.
“It’s a testament to what can be achieved when government, a community housing provider, and the community work together for a common goal,” the Mayor said.
“The official opening of the Griffin Green Affordable Housing portion of this project is a chance for us all to celebrate the positive impacts this collaboration will have on our community now and into the future.”
Argyle Housing CEO, Carolyn Doherty said, “We are proud to announce the official opening
of Griffin Green. This project represents a crucial step towards ensuring that everyone in our community has access to safe and affordable housing. Griffin Green is not just buildings; it’s about creating a healthy and supportive community for all.”
